    Registration Information

    NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

For the 2022/23 school year, Spruce Avenue School is full in planned classes in Grade 8 and Grade 9 in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in Grade 8 and Grade 9 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enroll in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If  you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

    CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

You will need to pre-enroll on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between March and April each year.

If you have questions about registering for school, contact the school office.

Welcome

Welcome to Spruce Avenue School! Home of the Spartans.

At Spruce Avenue, we are proud to offer a variety of programs that support different types of learners. We are a community school that serves students in grades 7-9 and we are very fortunate to have an excellent partnership with The Family Centre and BGCBigs (Boys and Girls Club/Big Brothers Big Sisters) who support and provide us with our All in for Youth team. As a collective, we work to provide quality learning and mental health support for students and their families. Spruce Avenue School reflects the rich cultural heritage of the students that make up its diverse population and who focus on kindness and community. We look forward to welcoming you and your family into our Spartan Community!

Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Spruce Avenue School.

Fall brings excitement for the possibilities and opportunities that each new year provides. We are a wonderful team at Spruce Avenue School. As a staff, we share the belief that our success is achieved through collaboration and partnership. We aim to provide our students with a strong support system and a school that offers rich and diverse learning opportunities that will support them today and beyond school.

We are committed to the success of each student. We recognize that, as all students are unique, so are the supports they require to learn. The Spruce Avenue staff continues to work together to support students in their academic and social development.

We also believe that student success is a shared responsibility between the student, staff, parents/guardians, and the greater community. We welcome family input and involvement and are grateful for the partnerships that make Spruce Avenue a better place.

On behalf of the staff, I welcome you to Spruce Avenue School for a year of learning and growing together. I am truly honoured to be the principal in a school where our shared belief that all students have the potential to learn is lived. Please do not hesitate to call me at the school (780) 479-0155 or email me at kris.simpson@epsb.ca with any questions or to provide input to support student success.

Working with you,

Kris Simpson
